Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get to know you?
Send me an email! We will then schedule a 15-20 minute complementary phone call. During our call, you can share as much as you feel comfortable with, and if we decide to move forward, I will send you the necessary documents through my online platform Simple Practice.
Where do you practice?
I offer virtual and in-person appointments. My office is located at 850 Colorado Blvd, Suite 104, Los Angeles, CA 90041. Street parking is available for free. We have a waiting room with tea, coffee, and snacks, and a single-stall bathroom with hygiene products. There is a taco truck down the street that closes at 3pm that I highly recommend, and a cafe up the street called Little Flower with delicious coffee.
Do you provide letters?
I can provide gender affirming letters of support, letters for academic or workplace accommodations, and ESA letters (however, due to CA AB 468, we must have at least a 30-day working relationship together).
I am unable to complete unemployment documentation. These forms must be completed by a licensed medical doctor or psychologist.
How do you feel about medication?
Never a requirement!
If you are interested in pursuing medication, I work with a variety of nurse practitioners and psychiatrists in the Los Angeles area that I am happy to connect you with.
Do you take insurance?
I am out of network; I do not take insurance directly. I provide Superbills upon request that can be submitted to insurance for potential reimbursement. It is important to look into your individual plan first.
Canceling, rescheduling, & late policy.
I require a 24-hour notice of a cancellation. Otherwise, you will be charged the full fee for the missed appointment. I offer a one-time no-charge for a late cancellation. I do not charge for rescheduling, but I cannot guarantee I am always able to. I do not have a late policy; we can meet until your scheduled time is up.
How do I pay?
After our initial call, I will provide you with a link to complete intake documents, as well as providing a credit card or HSA card to the online portal.
Do you offer sliding scale?
We can discuss sliding scale options before our initial appointment. I have resources available for low-fee therapy in the community as well.
What is EMDR?
EMDR is a gentle, research-supported therapy that helps your brain process and heal from painful memories so they no longer feel as intense or disruptive.
In EMDR sessions, we briefly focus on a memory or feeling that feels stuck while using bilateral stimulation (such as guided eye movements, buzzers, or tapping). This process helps your nervous system reprocess the experience in a way that feels safer and more manageable. Many people find that memories become less distressing and that they begin to experience more relief, clarity, and self-compassion.
I have completed EMDR Basic Training (Part 1 and Part 2), which allows me to integrate EMDR into our work together using the standard protocol. While I am not EMDR-certified at this time, I use this approach within my training and scope of practice to support your healing process.
